OVERVIEW

Our client is a customer focused blue chip retailer who has experienced significant growth over the past few years. They operate independent stores as well as having concession outlets within department stores and are keen to bring in people who will be able to add value to the organisation and grow a career within the business. They are currently seeking an Area Manager for their South/South Coast patch who will be able to drive the business through team development and driving store profitability. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE

- A proven track record of successfully managing in a multi-site or flagship store environment
- A confident and natural leader who is able to coach, develop, lead and motivate a team to deliver high performance
- Previous experience managing store KPI`s such as sales targets, customer service and conversion rates
- You will have a can do attitude, be naturally confident, passionate about people and achieving in your role. Your determination and focus to achieve will shine through when you talk through your career
- A strong work ethic is a must, candidates must be willing to work in a demanding environment where you are rewarded for your hard work and you excel on driving customer service standards
- A confident and effective communicator with excellent decision making skills
- A passion for retail and delivering high levels of customer service at all times
- Ability to engage talent, build team spirit and challenge goals
- Demonstrating commercial awareness, providing information and analysis
- Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise to achieve tangible results

- A strong knowledge of the retail market with exceptional business acumen and commercial awareness

THE ROLE - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Recruit, retain, engage and performance manage the team to ensure the right people are in the right positions within the retail business
- Reporting into the Retail Director with all updates around area progress and strategy, working with the area management team to collectively address issues in the UK as a whole
- To identify opportunities for improvement in business and propose solutions through the Retail Director
- Complete regular store visits to focus on store standards and service to drive sales in line with company business goals
- Monitoring the profitability of the area and driving the importance of this with the retail store managers
- Recruit and train store managers and set business expectations with them, coaching managers through a set induction planner
- Ensure all staff are multi-skilled to complete a wide range of duties within the retail store
- Ensure all staff have knowledge of products and services within the whole retail store
- Advise the management team in managing the performance of self and others within agreed limits including setting performance standards and efficient use of the team around you
- Complete yearly appraisals for staff within agreed time limits
- Ensuring staffing levels are adequate to offer excellent customer service for the whole area
- Identify business levers and pro-actively assist the Store Managers to keep track of the competition so that the business can respond to change
- Manage KPI performance at area level as well as troubleshooting individual stores where needed
- Driving customer service standards to achieve sales and exceed customer satisfaction targets
- To assist in the day-to-day administrative duties as appropriate and to produce written reports and financial records as requested
